Schertz, Live Oak, New Braunfels & Neighborhood Allergy Treatment

There Are Usually Three Main Ways to Combat Allergies:

  • Avoidance: Identifying and staying away from the things that triggers your allergies is the best therapy. This works best for indoor allergens like dogs, cats and dust mites.
  • Medications: When you can not avoid allergens, there are many medications that can help control allergy symptoms, medications simply work to block your symptoms. Decongestions and antihistamines are the most common allergy medications. They help to reduce a stuffy nose, runny nose, sneezing and itching. Nasal steroid sprays are effective in treating inflammation in your nose. An allergist will work with you to determine which medications are best for you. Medications simply work to block your symptoms. These medications and others work best if they are taken BEFORE the allergy symptoms become severe.
  • Immunotherapy- "allergy shots" or "allergy drops": Also called allergy immunotherapy, this is the most effective therapy as it is the only one that actually changes your allergies. small amounts of the things you are allergic are injected into your body or put under your tongue in gradual increasing doses to build up your tolerance to these things. Please see our Immunotherapy section.

When medications fail, become too expensive or preference is for a more natural long term option, Immunotherapy is highly effective
