At Central Texas Allergy and Asthma, we pride ourselves on our commitment to providing the most comprehensive treatment options for our patients. We provide high-quality treatment options for those suffering from seasonal and year-round allergies. Our immunology specialists also provides treatment for hives, eczema, immunological diseases, and a variety of related illnesses. We also provide penicillin drug testing. Physicians

Priyanka Gupta, M.D.

Dr. Gupta spent her childhood in the medical offices of Michigan. Coming from a long line of physicians, beginning with her great-grandfather and moving all the way to her own father, Dr. Gupta is no stranger to the medical field. Dr. Gupta received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and quickly began her journey toward receiving her M.D. at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. Dr. Gupta then moved to Houston for the next three years where she did her residency at Baylor College of Medicine. Her Allergy-Immunology fellowship took her to Chicago at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. It is at Northwestern where Dr. Gupta trained in both adult and pediatric allergic and immunological diseases. Dr. Gupta, along with her family, moved to the Central Texas area in 2005 and have called the Hill Country area home ever since. Dr. Gupta splits her time between San Antonio, New Braunfels, and Schertz.

  • Monica Johnson, D.O.

    Dr. Johnson is Board Certified in Allergy and Immunology, as well as in General Pediatrics.

    Dr. Johnson was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. After embracing her desire to practice medicine at a very early age, she began her journey at the High School for Health Professions in Dallas. Dr. Johnson received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas in Austin, and subsequently completed her medical training at the University of North Texas Health Science Center-College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas.

    Dr. Johnson then joined the United States Air Force as General Pediatrician, and after various medical and leadership appointments around the world, she completed her Adult and Pediatric Allergy and Immunology fellowship at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.

    After 7 more years of caring for Air force Service members and their families, and with 21 years of active duty military service, Dr. Johnson retired in the rank of colonel, and once again made Texas home.

    Having practiced as an Allergy-Immunology specialist for over 10 years, Dr. Johnson now brings her unique military perspective to caring for our Central Texas Allergy and Asthma Patients.

    Dr. Johnson will be primarily at our Schertz location and is accepting new patients of all ages.

    Physician Assistants

    Darshan Patel, PA-C

    Darshan Patel is a certified physician assistant who graduated from UT Health San Antonio in 2018 with a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. He was born in West Palm Beach, Florida and was raised in the Rio Grande Valley. He attended New York University for his undergraduate studies, majoring in International Relations with a pre-med concentration. Once he graduated, he worked for the non-profit Children’s International for a few years before deciding he wanted to pursue a career in the health field. He worked as an EMT in Houston before attending University of Houston for his post-bacc studies. After finishing his post-bacc studies, Darshan started his Physician Assistant studies in San Antonio. He lives with his girlfriend, dog, and cat in San Antonio. He has been working with Central Texas Asthma and Allergy for over a year. He is primarily in the New Braunfels clinic.

    Chelsea Nichols, PA-C

    Chelsea “Caeli” Nichols is a certified physician assistant. She grew up in southern Illinois and received her undergraduate degree in biological sciences at Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville. Shortly after graduating, Caeli met her husband who is active duty in the United States Air Force. She then relocated to Tampa, Florida where she received her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from South University-Tampa. As a military spouse, she has lived in Texas, Hawaii, and California and has practiced in multiple specialties including gastroenterology, internal medicine, and urology. Caeli joined Central Texas Allergy and Asthma in November 2019 and practices primarily in the Schertz clinic. She resides in Selma with her husband and two children.
